When are are you open?
Our main sessions run on Mondays 10am to 12 noon, Tuesdays 10am to 12 noon and 1pm to 3pm. We are flexible to fit in with client needs, e.g. having lunch together before or after a session, when transport such as ReadiBus is available. Please contact us if you would like to know more.
How much does it cost?
The cost per session is £20, or £40 for a full day. This includes use of all equipment, as well as tea and coffee during refreshment breaks.

What gardening experience do I need?
None – we welcome all levels of gardening experience from beginner up. All you need is interest and willingness to participate – we will help you with the rest.
What happens if it rains or is very cold?
We have a greenhouse and heated polytunnel so that we can garden throughout the year in the warm and dry. We also use our spacious pavilion for gardening-related crafts and activities, as well as for refreshment and lunch breaks.
What do I need to bring with me?
We provide all the tools and equipment needed for the activities you will be involved with. Wear clothes that are suitable for gardening. We can provide gloves, or you may decide to bring your own with you. If you would like to have lunch at Ridgeline, bring a packed lunch with you – we provide teas and coffees.
Can I try a session to see if it’s for me?
Yes, of course. Please contact us to arrange a visit. You are welcome to come along to a trial session before deciding if you would like to attend on a regular basis. This also gives us the opportunity to meet you and to identify how we can best help you make the most of each session, should you decide to join us.
I have difficulty moving and cannot stand for long.
Not a problem, as we have a wonderful raised bed area specifically for gardeners with limited mobility. Lots of gardening activities can be done sitting down, and other activities can be adapted to suit your needs, supervised by our qualified horticultural therapists.
What about transport to the Ridgeline garden?
Many of our gardeners use ReadiBus, the dial-a-ride bus service for people with restricted mobility in and around Reading. The garden is also very accessible by public transport (link to Find us). Regrettably we are not able to transport anyone to or from the garden.
Are you able to help me with personal care?
We are unable to assist with personal care needs, although someone may accompany you to offer help as needed.
